CPDF - Continuing Professional Development and Formation is a strategy employed by the Office for Education to support and develop the staff of our schools.
The Office for Education understands the critical importance of the on-going formation of staff at all levels in our schools and consequently, resources are focused on this aim. Staff are our greatest asset and their professional formation is the bedrock for school development and improvement.
The provision for CPDF is targeted across the whole school workforce from teaching assistants, school chaplains and newly qualified teachers, to middle leaders, Primary RE Leaders, Heads of Department, senior leaders, headteachers and governors.
Provision is planned according to a Professional Continuum, which has been developed over the last three years. The Professional Continuum is a roadmap for all schools and individuals to plan action on what can be achieved a. by the individual; b. by the school and its networks; c. by the Diocese of Salford; d. by the national and professional organisations. The Continuum is available on this website.
