Diocesan Head Associates
Diocesan Head Teacher Associates are appointed by the Director of Education and commissioned by the Bishop of Salford. A Diocesan Head Teacher Associate will be an experienced head who is leading a successful school and committed to the work of the Office for Education. DHAs work across all phases of education, from Primary and Secondary schools to our Sixth Form Colleges.
The role of the DHAs encompasses four main areas:
a) Advising governing bodies in the appointment of a new head teacher or deputy head teacher;
b) Mentoring newly appointed Headteachers or candidates on the Catholic Leadership Programme (CLP);
c) Undertaking Pastoral Visits to the headteachers of our diocesan schools;
d) Acting as diocesan representative on official LA consultative committees.
DHAs are pleased to represent the ‘human face’ of the Diocese and assist the Office for Education in enabling schools to serve their children, staff and communities.
